There comes a time in Everyone's life, as for on this Earth that We are only able to count on Ourselves. For that very reason, We're instructed to refrain from putting Anyone on a pedestal, for they will surely disappoint Us.  We have to truly know Ourselves in order to truly Love Ourselves. Genuine friends stay around well after the party's over to help You clean up the mess; both figuratively and literally. Only God can offer You Unconditional Love. Everyone else has limitations; CoWorkers, Friends, Family, etc. even Your own shadow will leave You during Your darkest times.
